On the hill “Vedetta delle Pignatte” rise the fenico Tophet of S.Antioco, the most important in Sardinia and one of the main ones to the world after the one of Cartagine. The earthenware placed on the hill are for the most reconstructed , however the originals and other archaeological finds of these period can be admires in the Archaeological Museum of S.Antioco. 
In twenty minutes ferry’s trip from Calasetta, it’s possible to arrive to S. Pietro’s Island, where Carloforte town is the only habited centre of clear provenience Ligurian. The island is characterized from high and jagged reefs where you can admire le Colonne, two imposing cliff that rise from the sea up to fifty meters . The punico fenicio settling of Sirai mount is a very important arch logic site. It is situated to the top of Sirai hill, at 1 km from Carbonia city.
Serbariu’s coalmine. Malgrado non sia più attivo, il sito minerario è stato recuperato e ristrutturato, ed attualmente è sede del Museo del Carbone. All’interno è possibile ammirare la galleria sotterranea, le sale argani e i castelli dei pozzi utilizzati per l’estrazione e la lavorazione del ricco minerale. is seventy years old and it is the most representative symbol of Carbonia city. It’s not more active, but the mine site has been recovered and restructured, and currently it is centre of the Coal’s Museum. Inside you can even admire the gallery basement, the “argani” rooms and the castles used for the extraction and the working of the rich mineral.

Porto Flavia is the result of a mining engineering skills, situated along the south-western Sardinia coast, next to Masua (Iglesias). The mining site is the only one in its way. It was realized in the 1924 and it turned the system of minerals boarding upside down. Actually the gallery is visible in all its course and its beauty.

S. Barbara’s caves is situated inside S. Giovanni’s mine, a little far from Iglesias. It has been discovered in 1952 and currently is considered one of the most old in Europe.
